I'm so excited to read this novel! "The Bear and the Nightingale" comes out in January but I've got an advance-read copy from NetGalley. I don't know much about it other than it's inspired by Russian fairytales. Often when I do this feature, I've already read the book so I can't help but consider the story when choosing the cover I prefer, but this time I have no preconceived notions.
U.S. // U.K.
What a tough choice! I like both covers; they each convey themes of the mystical, nature and folk tales. I wouldn't mind stepping into them both! But if they were on a bookshelf next to each other, I'd probably go with the U.K. cover, mostly because I love illustrated covers that feature bright colors and bold artwork.
Do tell: which cover do you prefer?

The UK cover is gorgeous! It would definitely draw my attention in a bookshop.
ReplyDeleteI confess I like the U.S. cover better, but then, I tend to like less busy covers.
ReplyDeleteI like them both too. I think they convey different things though...I guess I will know which one is better when I finally read the book!
ReplyDeleteI like them both - it's hard to choose! I had a galley of this too, but gave it away to a family member who will likely get to it before I would. But it does sound really good so I'm looking forward to hearing how you like it!
ReplyDeleteI like the look of both covers-the US one has the sort of fairy tale look to it and the UK one is bright and cheerful. I'm not sure which would catch my eye most on a shelf. Helpful huh!
