About Me

Silcox-35

Aloha and thanks for stopping by! I started this blog mainly as a forum for reviewing all the gazillion books I read. I thought writing about each book would help me internalize and remember it better. And, of course, I wanted to share my love of reading with the world!

My husband is in the Air Force and I'm thrilled that we have the opportunity to live all over the globe. We're back in Hawaii for the second time, and it's nice to have Thai food on every corner, take evening walks in plumeria-scented air and wear flip-flops year round, but I do miss seasons and big parking lots and spending more time with my family.

In addition to traveling and sightseeing, I enjoy knitting, writing, sending snail mail, baking, crafting, hiking, taking pictures, watching movies and TV shows, and going to concerts. I work at a library -- which I love! -- so the name of my blog is extra fitting.

We have a sweet and rambunctious boxer puppy, Alohi (in the photo above), and a moody but adorable kitty named Lily, whom I named after Lily in "The Secret Life of Bees." And we still miss our first boxer dog, our beloved Conan, every day.

Have a wonderful day, and happy reading!

  2. What a cute boxer! I also named my adopted cat after a character in the book I was reading - Gus from The Fault in Our Stars :)
