Hello, book friends! It's Tuesday, which means it's time for Top Ten Tuesday hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. The prompt for the week is:
Ten Favorite Heroines From Books
This was surprisingly hard for me... I have such a bad memory and it's hard to recall books I read back before I started blogging and keeping track of things on Goodreads. Plus, it seems that a lot of my favorite books with really memorable main characters feature males! Interestingly, all but one of my heroines came from a series.
Below are 10 fabulous female protagonists ranging from genius to bad-ass to hilarious. Who's your favorite heroine?
Below are 10 fabulous female protagonists ranging from genius to bad-ass to hilarious. Who's your favorite heroine?
1. Hermione Granger
2. Diana Bishop
3. Lady Emily
4. Katniss Everdeen
5. Lisbeth Salander
6. Mary Russell
7. Stephanie Plum
8. Skeeter
9. Claire
10. Meg Langslow
Great List!! I included Katniss and Hermione as well. I thought about including Stephanie Plum, but ran out of room. I've only read the first three books so far, but I like that series. Lisbeth is another great choice. I forgot about her.

You should definitely read more of the Plum books! Up until about book 13 or so, they're all a super-fun riot. I always say they have the perfect mix of mystery, humor and romance. After 13 they start to get pretty formulaic, but I'll keep on reading them as long as Janet Evanovich keeps writing them!
DeleteYou have some great ones here. I love Lady Emily and also Meg Langslow. Lisbeth was on my list as well.
ReplyDeleteI love Hermione and Katniss from your list, and Mary Russell too, though I've only read that first book and it was almost 10 years ago now. Another one of my faves would have to be Jo from Little Women.
ReplyDeleteI've only read the first three Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes books but I just love her! I really need to read more of the series... I think there are 13 books out now! I love Jo March too! I've never read "Little Women," though, only seen the movie. It's on my list of classics to read someday.
DeleteSo many great books on here! The Help, Outlanders, The Hunger Games, and Harry Potter! *Gasp* my heart can't take it.
ReplyDeleteFor the rest of them, they have been duly added to my TBR Shelf! So thank you :)
Out of all these books, which would you recommend the most to check out?

Oh my gosh, what a horribly tough question! My very most favorite from the books you haven't read would be A Discovery of Witches. But if you're in more of a mystery mood, I'd recommend the Lady Emily books by Tasha Alexander. But then there's also the Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes books. Gah! I love them all!
