16 Hyped Books I Haven't Gotten Around To Reading Yet

Hello, fellow bookworms! It's Tuesday, which means it's time for Top Ten Tuesday hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! This week's topic is about hyped, popular, well-publicized books we haven't read. My to-read list is full of really popular books that I intend to get to soon (i.e. hope to read at some point in my lifetime!) so I compiled my TTT list from there.

These are all books I'd like to read, some (like "All the Light We Cannot See," "The Queen of the Tearling" and "In the Kingdom of Ice") more than others. Have you read any of my selections? Which ones should jump to the front of the line? What hyped books are on your reading list?

  3. I *loved* Life After Life. I listed to the audio version, what a great book. It's one I actually want to buy. (I usually am a library gal.) I've got three of these on my TBR list but these all look amazing. Great list!

    1. Good to know! I'll move that one up the list. ;) Are you going to read the sequel?

I hardly ever buy books either, especially not brand new ones. I work at a library and it just seems silly not to get them all for free. The last time I bought brand new books was a year or two ago when the Harry Potter box set with new cover art came out!

  4. I have read The Goldfinch - which I liked but was long, THe Nightingale which is one of my favorites I read this year, and Everything I Never Told You - which was good but not what I thought it was going to be. I really want to read Life After Life and And the Mountains Echoed. Great list!

    1. I think the biggest reason I haven't read "The Goldfinch" yet is the length. I actually had it checked out from the library right after it came out, but I had a lot of other stuff to read at the time and I just couldn't make myself start something so long! I'm hoping to read "The Nightingale" at some point this year -- I'm just a bit hesitant because I really disliked the only other Kristin Hannah book I read ("Home Front"). This one seems right up my alley, though, and I've heard lots of good things about it. Fingers crossed!

  5. I loved The Buried Giant and All the Light, but they're not for everyone.

I livedvthevdtsrt of the Goldfinch, but ended up not finishing it - it annoyed me so much!!

    1. I'm almost positive I will love "All the Light," but I'm not so sure about "The Buried Giant." I hope to give it a try, though!

  6. Great list! I haven't read a lot of those, though I did really like Americanah and All the Light. I have to say that I thought And The Mountains Echoed was not nearly as good as The Kite Runner.

    1. Good to know! Have you read Khaled Hosseini's second book, "A Thousand Splendid Suns"? I liked "The Kite Runner," but I enjoyed that one more.

  7. This is a great list! I've read a number of these, but I'm looking forward to Everything I Never Told You and The Golemn and Jinni too!

  8. The Golem and the Jinni, The Queen of the Tearling and Daughter of Smoke and Bone are all books I'm interested in reading. Possibly The Nightingale, Brown Girl Dreaming, and All the Light We Cannot See as well. And my husband was given the audiobook of The Boys in the Boat for his birthday, so I'll probably listen to that one at some point - though it wasn't really on my radar until then! The others... well, there's only so much time in a year, and my want-to-read list is already over 1200 books long!
