Ah, book series. I love them! I love building on a story book by book, I love getting to know the characters and setting so well it just feels comfortable -- like you're catching up with old friends -- when you open the cover to the next installment. And because I love series so much, I can never manage to start all the series I want to, or keep up with the ones I've started. Sad news: in 2014 we did a TTT about newer series we wanted to read (here's mine) and I've since only managed to start one! Have you read any of the series on my list?

I love Ken Follett and have read all of his books! Great list.
ReplyDeleteA lot of these are on my TBR! I'm going to make a point to start Queen of the Tearling sometime in the next month or so. A Song of Ice and Fire took me forever and I still haven't finished the 4th book. I feel like we'll never get a 6th book at this point.

You have two here I totally forgot about - Wayfarers sci-fi series by Becky Chambers and Charley Davidson urban fantasy series by Darynda Jones. I really want to get to both of those. Great list!
ReplyDeleteI've actually read the first two Charley Davidson books and really enjoyed them but it's been so long ago I need to re-read them if I want to continue on with the series. I own the Queen of the Tearling books but haven't started either and they didn't even make my list.
ReplyDeleteI started reading Ken Follett's Century Trilogy, but I didn't like it as much as The Pillars of the Earth series, which has another book coming out later this year!
ReplyDeleteI've been working my way thru Agatha Christie for years. She never disappoints. Murder On the Orient Express is still my favorite (I haven't read them in order). I loved the 70's movie of it, but am excited that there is a new movie of it coming out (might be out already). Definitely want to see it. Good list.
ReplyDeleteGame of Thrones is one series people keep telling me to read and I haven't gotten around to either. I've also heard great things about Jo Nesbo. I hope you enjoy all of these!!

I have so many series I want to try and some of them are on your list like Harry Hole, and Her Royal Spyness! I have started the Charley Davidson series and it's so good!!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the sequel yet, but The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet is really good. The Rook is on my list as well and I loooove the Chronicles of St. Mary's books. You should start with those!
